MODENA

Modena is one of the oldest Italian cities, which is placed at the south side of the Po Valley. It hosts several architectural gems of rare beauty, designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Modena is a polyhedric city, famous for its deeply rooted tradition with food specialties, music and motors; it has been homeland for several singers, and pop and rock performers, and Italian luxury sports car manufacturers. Moreover, it is particularly renowned for several of the Italy's most significant heritage foods. Given its position at the center of Po valley, Modena is central player in the development of Data Valley - Emilia-Romagna Digital Agenda.

BY PLANE

The closest airport to Modena is the "G. Marconi" Intercontinental Airport in Bologna (around 40 km). The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia – Department of Life Sciences can be reached through the E45 motorway, or by bus/train.

BY TRAIN

Modena is on the Milan-Bologna railway line. The train journey from Milan takes around 2 hours; 25 minutes from Bologna. The Modena train station is in Piazza Dante Alighieri. To reach the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia – Department of Life Sciences from the train station, take the bus no. 7 (direction: Gottardi/Policlinico) to the “Braghiroli” stop.

BY CAR

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia – Department of Life Sciences can be easily reached through two exits of the A1 motorway: Modena Nord exit and Modena Sud exit. In addition, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia – Department of Life Sciences can also be reached through the A22 Brennero motorway.
